On September 17th ESIA member SEND e.V. from KoSI, the German National Competence Center for Social Innovation, hosted an online Finance Roundtable titled "Tailor-made Financing for Social Innovation: 10 years of experience from Portugal and UK." 

Guests were Filipe Almeida from  Portugal Social Innovation  and Philipp Essl from  Better Society Capital  in the UK. Both organisations have developed a holistic approach to supporting their national social innovation ecosystem. They meet the diverse and changing needs of social innovation through tailor-made funding solutions and have also been instrumental in promoting the social investment landscape in general in their respective countries, attracting additional investors to the sector. Both organisations have a decade of experience from which social innovation stakeholders across the EU can draw valuable lessons.

SEND e.V. will provide various opportunities for knowledge exchange, skills development and networking as part of The European Social Innovation Alliance. This online Finance Roundtable was the first in a series, in which SEND will invite guests from Germany and abroad so that participants can be inspired by ideas on financing and on how to foster social innovation. The roundtables will be held in English.
